Show Notes

EPISODE

In this Episode Brendon sits down with 3 carers - Liam, Levi and Darcy - whom are all  Independent Support Workers.

The boys discuss a whole range of topics including working with SIL providers and the challenges faced with it, whilst working for Participants as Independents. They explore 'Choice and Control' and whether it really does mean "true" Choice & "true" Control. They talk about what it looks like and how different it is between a Service Provider and Independent Support Workers. They also highlight the complexities around the lack of regulations for becoming an independent support worker, and how there should be some concern by Participants and the NDIA how the barrier to entry is very low, for people who should not be Support Workers, to enter into the business of care provision.
